Unintentional injuries are responsible for more disabilities and deaths to children than all childhood diseases combined. Often measures are not taken that could prevent or drastically reduce the seriousness of unintentional injuries.
Our programs and initiatives combine education, awareness, environmental changes and safety device distribution in an effort to engage all Anderson County residents to get more involved in child safety and keep families and children safer.
Injury prevention education and outreach efforts are conducted in the following areas:
- Child passenger safety/Occupant protection
- Residential fire prevention
- Bicycle and other wheeled sport safety
- Pedestrian safety
- Sports safety
- Water safety
Please call for other safety prevention information. Safe Kids Anderson County has safety outreach efforts in many more areas.
